Sometimes, even though all the clips in your timeline butt up to each other correctly, flashes of black frames pop up from time to time. Either due to discrepancies in frame rate decimal points, glitches in GPU memory during the export process, or some phenomenon of unknown origin. This is exactly what Blank Check was created for.
Your timeline shows you the edit. It doesn't show you the render. Blank Check, a plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro, checks the actual rendered frames, pixel by pixel, so it catches what a visual scrub never will.
Export a small proxy version of your sequence with one click, or point Blank Check at a folder of frames you already exported. Either way, it reads every frame and drops a marker exactly where each black frame run starts and ends, right on your sequence.
HOW IT DETECTS BLACK FRAMES
Every frame is checked two ways. First, is it close to true black, including broadcast and legal range black around 16, not just pure digital black at 0. Second, does it suddenly drop in brightness compared to the frames around it, which catches glitches on footage that's naturally dark, where a simple black check would miss it.
Only the center of the frame is checked, so letterboxed or pillarboxed footage doesn't get falsely flagged from the black bars on the sides. Fades at the start and end of your sequence are ignored by default.
