PARITY

Parity Support

Need help? Email us at info@forneverproductions.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. Please include your Mac model, macOS version, and a short description of what happened. If a transfer failed, attach the exported log from Transfer Details → Export Log Report.

Getting started

  1. Open Parity and choose a Source folder and a Destination folder.
  2. Turn on Checksum if you want every file read back and verified after copying. Turn on ASC MHL to write a manifest into the destination.
  3. Press Start. Parity copies only what is new or changed, then verifies it.
  4. Add more tasks with +. They run one after another in the queue.

Your folder pairs are saved in Recents, so a repeat backup is one click away. Star a favorite to keep it at the top.

Connecting your iPhone and Apple Watch

Parity Monitor is a free companion app that shows your Mac’s queue and sends an alert when tasks finish.

  1. Make sure your Mac and iPhone are signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID.
  2. In Parity on your Mac, open Settings (⌘,) and turn on “Send status to iPhone & Apple Watch”.
  3. Install Parity Monitor on your iPhone and allow notifications when asked.
  4. Start a task on your Mac. It appears on your iPhone within a few seconds.

The Apple Watch app installs with Parity Monitor. Alerts appear on your watch when your iPhone is locked or in your pocket.

Common questions

My iPhone isn’t showing my tasks.
Check that both devices use the same Apple ID and that “Send status to iPhone & Apple Watch” is on. Tap the gear icon in Parity Monitor to see your iCloud status and which Macs are connected.

Parity Monitor says my iCloud storage is full.
Parity needs only a tiny amount of space, but iCloud refuses new updates when storage is completely full. Free up a little space in iCloud and updates resume on their own.

Notifications on my Mac disappear too quickly.
Open System Settings → Notifications → Parity and choose Alerts. Alerts stay on screen until you dismiss them.

A task says “Drive not connected” or can’t open a folder.
Reconnect the drive, then choose the folder again in the task. For a saved Recent, click it again once the drive is mounted.

What does Verified mean?
After copying, Parity read every file back from the destination and confirmed it matches the source exactly using an xxHash64 checksum.

I quit Parity during a transfer. What happens?
Your queue is saved. The interrupted task comes back ready to start. Press Start and Parity finishes it, skipping files that were already copied.

Does Parity collect my data?
No. Your files never leave your devices. Task status for your iPhone and Watch travels only through your own private iCloud. See our Privacy Policy.

Requirements

Parity: macOS 13.5 or later
Parity Monitor: iOS 17 or later
